SUZUKI SUPPORTS AMATEURS COMPETING IN THE MINI OS
Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki team travels to Florida for 40th Annual Thor Winter National Olympics
BREA, CA (November 18, 2011) – American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) announced today that the company is proud to provide support for their amateur riders competing on the Suzuki RM-85 and RM-Z models in the 40th annual 2011 Thor Winter National Olympics to be held at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainesville, FL, the week of November 21-26.
Also known as the “Mini O’s,” the highly anticipated Thanksgiving-week event attracts amateur riders from around the world. ASMC will be paying contingency in all the premier classes at the Mini O’s, and will also have their Amateur Support Truck on hand to provide parts-and-service assistance. Details on ASMC’s 2012 Suzuki Contingency Program will be announced and available soon on www.suzukicycles.com.
ASMC is also continuing their partnership with the Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki team. Led by Team Manager Ed Torrance and Team Owner Bobby Hewitt, the three-rider team will include amateur champion Jace Owen, as well as riders Daniel Baker and Michael Mosiman.
Additionally, Rockstar Energy Suzuki Pro Lites Team Manager Dave Gowland will continue to play an integral role as General Manager with the amateur team. Gowland’s chief responsibility will be to help groom the young amateur riders for their future professional careers.
“The whole Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki team is looking forward to next week’s event and the upcoming season,” said Gowland. “Jace already has several amateur titles under his belt and will represent the B Class. Daniel will be heading up the Schoolboy Class, while Michael will be competing in the Minicycle Class. We can''t thank Suzuki enough for all their support.”
