Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Head to Indianapolis Ready to Extend Win-Streak and Points Lead

CORONA, Calif. (March 13, 2019) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner and Martin Davalos are ready to go back indoors to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this weekend and chalk up another win to extend the team’s seven-race win streak. Forkner now has four wins after a solid performance in Daytona, while Davalos is hoping to bounce back from a 10th place finish.

While the weather outside isn’t supposed to get above 40, it will be a welcomed change to the snowfall the series experienced in 2018. Forkner finished sixth during last year’s race - which was an east/west showdown - and is looking to improve that to a win.

“We’ve got a solid program in place right now and I want to try and keep it going,” said Forkner. “The wins are great but the ultimate goal is to keep the red plate. Indy is notorious for the track breaking down so I know it won’t be an easy race. The focus will be to minimize mistakes and make adjustments when needed.”

Davalos didn’t race in Indianapolis last year after taking time off to heal up from injuries, so he’s looking forward to getting back to where he scored a fifth-place finish in 2016. He knows he’s better than he most recent 10th-place finish and is excited to get back out on the track.

“When you have a race that doesn’t go great, you’re more eager to go back out and get a better result,” said Davalos. “We’re working hard to make it back into the top five where I know I need to be.”

Saturday’s race from Lucas Oil Stadium will be broadcast same-day delayed on NBC Sports starting on Saturday, March 16 at 11 p.m. ET.
