Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Cianciarulo Carries Momentum and Red Plate into Round 2 at Fox Raceway

CORONA, Calif. (May 22, 2019) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo heads to the second round of the Pro Motocross Series with the coveted red number plate and extra confidence after standing atop the podium at a rain-soaked first race. The Southern California round will return to Fox Raceway in Pala for the first time since 2011. Garrett Marchbanks will focus on his solid first moto at the season opener, looking to score his first top-10 finish of the season this weekend. Martin Davalos also ran well in the opening moto and is looking to bounce back with two good finishes at Round 2.

The weather is on par to be perfect for the weekend and Cianciarulo is ready to take full advantage. While he has never raced at the circuit before, the track is a regular fixture when testing in Southern California. Cianciarulo carries a four-point lead into the second round.

“It’s always nice to start the season off with a good finish, but it’s all about keeping the momentum going,” said Cianciarulo. “The summer can get pretty long so it’s important to start strong. It will be nice to get another win and be consistent at Pala.”

While no longer a rookie, like Cianciarulo, Marchbanks hasn’t raced professionally at Fox Raceway before. For many in the 250 Class, it will be a learning experience and Marchbanks is hoping to start the day off strong.

“We ride a lot at Pala but it will be a whole new experience to race with all the fans,” said Marchbanks. “I really want to get back into the top 10 this weekend because I felt like that was where I should have been if I didn’t have a tough second moto at Hangtown. We’ll see how quickly we can get comfortable, but I think we’ll be able to make something happen there.”

The weekend at Hangtown ended with Davalos retiring early from the race and sore from his get off. After getting checked out, everything was good to go and Davalos will be under the tent this weekend at Fox Raceway.

“I was really sore so I just wanted to make sure everything was fine,” said Davalos. “I’m thankful that we’re all good and ready to get back on the bike to try and go after another good finish. It’s hard to really feel comfortable at Hangtown. That should change this weekend and I’m really looking to get in the top 10.”

Saturday’s race from Fox Raceway will be broadcast live on MAVTV and NBC Sports starting at 4 p.m. ET.
