Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasakis Forkner Finishes 10th In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (April 15, 2018) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner won the opening Main Event of the final Triple Crown event of the season, ultimately finishing 10th overall with a 1-10-19 race score despite not finishing the final race after going down. The get off ultimately injured his collarbone and he will go under evaluation this week.
After qualifying third, Forkner raced to a wire-to-wire victory in Main Event 1. It was an uphill battle in the second Main Event where he went down on the start but made it back up to 10th. In the final main event he got another tough start outside the top 10 but quickly was working his way up and was running third when he went down at the end of the whoops section. He was unable to return to the race and later discovered he had injured his left collarbone. Forkner will head home to meet with his doctor to discuss a prognosis.
“I wish things went differently but injuries have been brutal this season,” said Forkner. “I’ve gone through them before and know I can come back strong on the other side of this.”
