Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Enter Spring Creek
Corona, Calif. (July 18, 2016) - All eyes were on the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Team during round eight of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Spring Creek. The team quickly got to work during practice sessions and easily took the top spots. Fueled by a successful morning, the team was ready for the day’s motos.
Savatgy Rides Through Millville
After laying down some solid times during qualifying, Joey Savatgy was prepared for battle. In the first moto, he fought tirelessly and pushed himself throughout the race to stay among the leaders. Maintaining his determination in the second moto, he refused to give up. Continuing the fight, he was able to stay among the leaders throughout the race. Wrapping up the day, he finished in 4th and looks forward to stepping it up in Washougal.
"The first moto started off well with a good start but we couldn’t quite catch the leaders. The second moto was better as I was able to make my way up to second until I stalled the bike. We’ll go back and do our homework and come out swinging at Washougal."
Progress for AC
As the series goes on, Adam Cianciarulo’s performance continues to improve every week. Aboard his KX250F, he has continued to display great speed. Just outside of the top spots in moto one, he was determined to change things in the second. He was able to take the lead and guide the pack throughout the second moto. Adam left Minnesota with an overall 6th place finished, his best of the season, and looks forward to continuous growth as the series goes on!
“Today was a step in the right direction. I got off to a decent start in Moto 1, was able to charge the whole moto and made a few passes near the end to finish 7th. In Moto 2, I was top-5 around turn-1 and made a few quick passes to get into the lead early. I was able to charge and lead for about 10-minutes which felt awesome to be back upfront again. I’m looking forward to next week.”
Advancement for Tonus
Arnaud Tonus continues to perform better and better at each week’s race. Fueled by last weekend’s podium, he was determined to once again show off his talent. Throughout the day he rode steady as he pursued a leading position. His improvements were evident in his overall results at Spring Creek. Motivated by his 7th place finish, he looks forward to further advancement in the remaining motos!
“Every week I’m feeling faster and stronger and I believe it’s showing on the race track. I had two great starts and rode strong all moto to finish seventh overall. It’s nice to see that all the work I’ve been putting in over the years is beginning to pay off.”
Forkner Remains Upbeat
Austin Forkner entered Spring Creek ready to ride and lead the pack. Riding towards the front of the line throughout most of the first moto, he was prepared to finish the day out strong. He faced a few challenges in the second moto, but he did not let that bring him down. Displaying true sportsmanship, he got back on his bike and continued to ride full force. Finishing the day in 13th, he looks at every weekend as a learning experience and stays motivated!
“The day started off really well after qualifying fourth. I got off to a pretty good start in Moto 1 inside the top-10 and eventually made my way briefly into fifth before getting passed back and finishing sixth. Second moto, I got off to another great start but went down on Lap 2 and fell all the way back to 22nd. I fought my way back up into 11th before crashing in the rollers on the last lap, but was able to salvage a 17th place.”
