Eastern Regional Riders Return for Final Triple Crown Race in Minneapolis
Corona, Calif. (April 11, 2018) – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner will be looking to repeat his previous Triple Crown finish and go after the team’s 150th supercross win this weekend in Minneapolis. Teammate Martin Davalos - who won a main event at the previous Triple Crown - will be sitting out the race at U.S. Bank Stadium due to injury.
Coming into the final Triple Crown race of the season, Forkner now has an idea of what to expect from the typically wild and crazy format. As the only representation for the team in Minneapolis, Forkner is looking to make his team proud and - with a bit of luck that is needed at a triple crown race - provide them with a historical achievement of its 150th supercross win.
“The last triple crown race was pretty crazy and went down to the final lap of the final race,” said Forkner. “I’m sure it’s still going to be crazy, but it helps to have a little idea of what to expect when the gate drops. Good starts are pretty much the key so we’ve been working to make that a priority this week.”
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki fans can meet and get Forker’s autograph at Cities Edge Motorsports in Shakopee, Minnesota, on Friday, April 13 from 6-7 p.m.
Saturday’s race from U.S Bank Stadium will be broadcast on FS1 or the FOX Sports GO app delayed starting at 10 p.m. ET.
