100-MILLION COMBINED TELEVISION SUBSCRIBERS REACH IN NORTH AMERICA FOR THE FIM WORLD MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
Glen Helen (USA), 10 September, 2016 – Thanks to yesterday’s announcement of a multi-year Television agreement with beIN SPORTS USA for the broadcast of the “Behind of the Gate” show, and along with the on-going rock-solid partnership with CBS Sports Network for the play-by-play Television coverage of every MX2 and MXGP Grand Prix, Youthstream is today honored to communicate that the FIM World Motocross Championship is reaching now a stunning count of 100-million TV subscribers in North America.
“100 millions of TV subscribers in the U.S. and Canada alone, this is really a big deal for us and for the MX2 and MXGP series, for all our other events and all of our partners”, says Mario Marini, Youthstream Director of Corporate Relations. “It took us a little more time to get the U.S. and Canada properly covered Television wise compared to the rest of the world, but waiting for the right moment to take action turned out to be the winning key for our series to reach now this amazing number of TV subscribers. With CBS Sports Network we have such an amazing partnership with a lot of consideration from them for our sport, we are really grateful to them for that. With beIN SPORTS USA, the rising star of the North American TV scenery, this is a return as we have worked together before and we are glad we could now find the proper fit. For MXGP this new partnership with beIN SPORTS USA is strategically important because they broadcast both in English and Spanish, they are very serious about motorsports, in fact they already bring MotoGP and World Superbike to the U.S. home screens, and also because it allows us to target the soccer audience which is the fastest growing in sports in the region”.
The races’ coverage of the MXGPs is aired, on a same-day basis, by CBS Sports Network. CBS Sports Network also broadcasts Live the Monster Energy MXGP of USA and the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations.
beIN SPORTS USA is the network that airs “Behind of the Gate” the popular 30-minute comprehensive highlights programme of every Youthstream produced event.
